We're young farmers passionate about sustainability and committed to harvesting the finest sustainably-grown microgreens using passive solar and geothermal energy. Friends since middle school, we—Dave and Roberto—established Emerald Gardens in Broomfield, CO in 2017, growing microgreens for chefs and restaurants such as Shine and 24 Carrot Bistro. We quickly generated a strong customer base and following, and in 2018 we moved to Bennett, CO to scale our operations and begin working with retailers such as (Alfalfa’s and Lucky’s Markets), food pantries and food cooperatives, as well as other farm CSA programs. In addition to the delicious taste and quality of our harvest, we owe our success to the community of patrons that has united in support of our products and mission. We cultivate this following with our dedication to community engagement, including leading in-store demos, workshops, talks, and fun educational activities for children, as well as partnering with Hunger Free Colorado and LiveWell Colorado in their food access initiatives. Ever working to improve our products and service, we thrive on customer feedback and are in the process of obtaining Organic and Good Manufacturing Practice certification. We are proud members of the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, National Young Farmers Coalition, and Mile High Farmers. We view farming as a public service and as civic action, and thus strive to be leaders in our state’s agriculture industry.
